Our aim is always to play non-contact walking football which is safe and fun for our club members plus anyone that envoys kicking a football. Our guides have followed all the early rules which we help to create for the enjoyment and safety of all. I currently play for Chelmsford City Walking Football Over 70s team and have just finished my eight-year tenure as captain of England's Over 60s. A few weeks ago we won the World Cup in Spain and we also won it two years ago at St George's Park in England. So that's two World Cups on the spin. In my football career I've had some good times and some not so good times. But the one thing I can say in all honesty is that this amazing sport of walking football has dramatically changed my life and that of thousands of people all around the world in terms of improving both mental and physical health. The thought that people of both sexes and in their 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s, let alone people with cancer and Parkinson's disease, would be out in the open enjoying, albeit a slower version of the great game, would have been unthinkable 20 years ago. Now, whilst having a competitive edge is fine, and I know this from first-hand experience, it's vital for everyone to understand that the key elements that make this game safe and enjoyable for everyone of all ages and abilities are the rules of the game. For all of us who play... Understanding and implementing these rules and regulations, as we will demonstrate on this video, will be an important step to ensuring our game is a happy and safe environment for everybody.
